Water reservoir
For manageable storage of vast volumes of water, an excavated and embanked reservoir proves highly effective. The Genap water reservoir has been specifically crafted for the direct collection of rainwater through pump systems, greenhouse roofs, buffer pits, and gutters.
Construction of a water reservoir
Genap can create water reservoirs in practically any location and in any desired size and shape. Determining the desired shape involves precise measurements of the reservoir’s dimensions using satellite technology. The reservoirs are lined with a specialised material chosen to suit the local conditions. Linings for reservoirs up to 5,000 m² are entirely manufactured in our factory. Only for larger reservoirs, we weld the parts together on-site.
Genap’s water reservoirs feature Aquatex® , an advanced plastic material specifically designed for water storage in the horticultural sector. This material comes in various types and thicknesses, making it suitable for both rainwater storage and retaining recirculating water.
The embankments come standard with Genatex® slope protection, shielding them from UV radiation and external mechanical impacts. Additionally, it keeps the embankments maintenance-free on the inside and prevents damage from flapping. The geomembrane and slope protection are anchored together at the crest or base of the outer embankment.
To prevent algae growth and evaporation from affecting the water quality in the reservoir, Genap offers various cover systems such as a semi-closed or open Genafloat®, a tensioned cover, or even a fully closed water reservoir. To optimise the reservoir’s surface area, it’s also possible to cover it with solar panels, with Genap providing the anti-algae anchoring system.
