Runoff or rinse water can be effectively used to dilute slurry before spreading it in a diluted form during the growing season. This practice leads to reduced ammonia emissions, improved nitrogen utilisation, and increased grass yield. Moreover, diluted slurry is easier to pump and penetrates the soil and turf more quickly and efficiently. Additionally, investing in a water storage system proves to be more cost-effective than investing in slurry storage.
