Membrane at Roer Tunnel
Besix / Strukton v.o.f. | Roermond, Nederland

Sunken ramp at the Roer Tunnel A73

In Roermond, the A73 highway was constructed with a sunken tunnel. Genap applied 19,000 square meters of PVC membrane for the ramp on the south side of the tunnel. A temporary construction pit was used to waterproof the membrane construction and connect it to the tunnel structure. The leak tightness was tested using the KUL method.

Houkesloot Aqueduct
Ballast Nedam Infra Noord Oost | Leeuwarden, The Netherlands

Membrane under Aqueduct Houkesloot

A PVC membrane construction was provided by Genap at the Houkesloot Aqueduct in Sneek. Genap recommended the use of 1 mm thick PVC membrane and reinforced strips of Genatex® reinforced PVC membrane for this specific project. A total of 8,500 square meters of membrane and geotextile were installed over two days.

Membrane at DOP NOAP
Contracting Company AVK BV | Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Final sealing of former landfill

Genap installed a top seal for the DOP NOAP landfill using HDPE membrane. Technicians welded 400,000 square meters of membrane together and conducted leakage checks. Over 125 inspection pits were created to ensure watertight connections. The top seal includes Trisoplast, HDPE membrane, a drainage mat, and a 1-meter thick topsoil layer.

Bottom seal at Jonkerbos
Construction Company Postma GWW BV | Nijmegen, The Netherlands

Overflow reservoir with bottom seal

Genap installed over 15,000 square meters of plastic membrane as the bottom seal of an overflow basin at Jonkerbos in Nijmegen. The membrane was secured with stainless steel strips and waterproofed with sliding constructions. A top layer of filling sand was then placed over the membrane construction to completely finish the project.
