Covering large silos or reservoirs in industries or the civil engineering sector is commonly done to prevent odor emissions, thereby minimizing nuisance to the surrounding area. In the case of drinking water treatment plants, a cover also combats salmonella and prevents contamination from falling leaves and dust.
Genap specializes in designing, producing, and installing covers in the industry and civil engineering sectors for silos and reservoirs of all possible shapes, whether rotating, freestanding, or utilizing a central column. The chosen material and construction depends on the dimensions, shape, use, stored liquid, and climatic conditions.
A stainless steel support structure over which a reinforced PVC membrane is stretched for silos, also suitable for rotating installations
A silo tensioned cover where the reinforced PVC geomembrane covering rests on a central column in the silo and is tensioned against the silo wall.
A floating cover that is pulled over an existing wastewater reservoir to prevent odour nuisance.
Genap installed three "Bundt" silo covers at WWTP Arnhem Zuid to mitigate odor emissions, commissioned by Landustrie Sneek. With a diameter of 29.5m and a height of 2.5m, they are highly resistant to wind. A walkway with Genatex 850 membrane prevents contact with the silo contents.
For Waterleiding Maatschappij Limburg, Genap installed a membrane construction in the De Lange Vlieter reservoir. This blue "Genatex 930" reinforced PVC membrane separates drinking water in the reservoir. The 500m long and 15m wide screen was custom-made and welded on-site, essential for future drinking water storage.
