Water silos for drinking water storage

Genap provided two water silos to the Karibu Foundation for drinking water storage in Tanzania. One of these silos was installed in the small village of Saja. In Saja, there are only two seasons: rainy and dry, with the dry season lasting eight months. During this period, residents often have access only to polluted drinking water. To collect clean drinking water during the rainy season, rainwater gutters were connected to the silo.

The construction of the tank was overseen by Mr. Teunissen, with the entire village community involved in the construction. Saja is located in an area with hard ground, making water drilling impossible. Thanks to Genap’s water silo, elementary school students no longer need to walk four kilometers daily to fetch water.
