Top seal of landfill De Vlagheide

On behalf of Ploegmakers Contracting Company, Genap installed a top seal on the former landfill site De Vlagheide, preparing it for future development in agriculture, nature, and recreation.

Once a landfill is filled or decommissioned, its top is sealed with a geomembrane to isolate it from the environment, prevent contamination spread, minimize rainwater infiltration, and ensure stability.

Our technicians meticulously welded 300,000 m² of geomembrane on-site, thoroughly checked for leaks, connected it to 105 inlets, and expertly joined the top seal to the existing bottom seal.
