Geomembrane sealing on waste-incinerator-ash mounds N18
At the request of KWS Infra, Genap has sealed waste-incinerator-ash mounds around the N18 with geomembrane. One of the mounds we have sealed is located near exit 26 of the A35, close to the Grolsch brewery. This mound serves as a bridge for the N18 over both the A35 and Boekelose street.
This project utilizes waste-incinerator ash, a residual material from waste incineration plants, for elevating roads and viaducts. To prevent environmental damage, Genap sealed these mounds with waste-incinerator-ash geomembrane.
Since this ash is considered an IBC (Isolation, Control, and Monitoring) construction material, it could only be used with appropriate isolation, control, and monitoring measures to prevent excessive emissions to the environment.
Our work was conducted and managed according to the operating instructions of the Stichting Infrastructuur Kwaliteitsborging Bodembeheer (SIKB), which sets guidelines for the management and quality assurance of soil-related activities in the Netherlands, including soil investigations and archaeological excavations.
This led to a high-quality, successful project, with smooth cooperation between all parties involved.
"The head foreman is satisfied with the cooperation and quality."
